TNA Ronne Bomber

My boyfriend bought TNA's Ronne bomber back in 2010 as my christmas present. It's filled with duck down and is relatively warm. I've worn it pretty much daily for the past two winters..I guess three if you include this year and it's still in good shape. I bought my nobis since I wanted a long jacket and didn't want to be cold if I decide to wear a dress out. Anyhoos, here are the pictures!

Front & Back

The logo is also on the left sleeve as well as an extra pocket and a pen holder? I sometimes keep some spare cash or coins in here. It's a little awkward though reaching across you body to grab stuff in a pocket on your other arm sleeve. I'm sure it's handy for some people, I just haven't discovered an ideal use for it yet. Definatly not a great spot for your cellphone.
The front upper pockets are also fleece lined like the Nobis. The difference is they're a bit higher on the chest (i think) and it's magnetic closure instead of snaps. I find this so much more convenient!! Why couldn't nobis do that :( snaps are such a hassle to open and close! I don't know what to say about the zipper. It's a basic one way zipper but if you comare the pictures, the Nobis zipper is sturdier.

 The front pocket is also magetic closure <3 a="a" along="along" and="and" because="because" bomber="bomber" but="but" case="case" cellphone="cellphone" fine="fine" fits="fits" i="i" if="if" in="in" is="is" it="it" just="just" keys="keys" lipbalm="lipbalm" my="my" nbsp="nbsp" nobis="nobis" not="not" one="one" p="p" pictured="pictured" pocket.="pocket." probably="probably" s="s" same="same" smaller="smaller" still="still" than="than" the="the" this="this" wanted="wanted" with="with">
Lastly, the inside pocket can be used to store a music player of your choice with a pouch for the player and the hole fo headphones. I don't care so much for the headphone hole but i would have liked it if the Nobis had that extra mini pouch since sometimes when i'm too lazy to bring a wallet I just keep my drivers license and a credit card in the smaller pocket.

Overall it's a nice jacket. One of my complaints is that while you're walking the back rides up along with whatever you're wearing underneath. Sometimes your back does get exposed and it's chilly. That's another reason why I wanted a long coat. I'm not sure if the CG chilliwack bomber does it too and if I had known I might not have chosen this jacket but it's okay. I've learned to deal with it.

Hope this wasn't too long and that you found it useful :) See you soon!

Nobis Meredith Review

Before I bought this jacket I had a hard time looking for pictures or detailed reviews so I decided to write one up! This jacket is the Meredith and is filled with canadian duck down. The brand is by Nobis and I believe it's by the makers of Canada Goose. THIS JACKET IS LIKE WEARING A DUVET COVER. SO COMFY!!

Front and Back (w.&w/o flash)

The Hood is detatchable as well as just the coyote fur ruff. There is a wire within the fur ruff to shape the hood around your face however you like. There is also a fleece inner hood which is super warm and soft but I take it off since I don't find it necessary.

The Jacket is closed by a 2-way zipper which can be a bit annoying to zip up since the jacket is long and zipping it is a bit of a pain in the butt but nothing big. Also the zipper cover is magnetic unlike other jackets (like my TNA and i think the CG) which are buttons.
Inside the jacket there's a pocket to store the fleece hood. I tried it and couldn't figure out a way to fold the hood that it doesn't poke into my back. Overall it feels awkward so I just leave it at home.

Logo Patch is on the left arm. The Sleeves have a thumb hole, just wanted to point that out :)
On to the pockets! Starting with the outside pockets, the upper front pockets are fleece lined and super warm. My only complaint is that it's a snap closuring unlike my TNA bomber which was magnetic. The front bottom pockets are super deep and I have no problem slipping my phone, keys etc in the pocket. I don't even have to undo the button. Aside from the button there is nothing keeping the pocket closed. Also fleece lined and super cushy. The last pocket os the pocket on the inside. Typical inside pocket, nothing special. (Phone for size comparison)

Also I seem to compare this to my TNA so i might do a review on that also. I hope you enjoyed this review and I'm happy if it even helps one person in their decision :)

Nobis Meredith Down Jacket

I haven't posted anything in a while!! I'll try to start up again! I bought a new jacket about 2 weeks ago. I'm not a fan of the pom poms on the moose knuckle jackets and everyone has a canada goose so i went with nobis!! I got the Meredith in Grey!

That's a picture of me for the first time wearing the jacket (tags are still on).
Wanted to test it outside right away!
For reference I'm 5'3 / 135lbs and got it in XS.

stay tuned for a detailed review of the jacket with more pictures :)

Thank You FOR NOTHING DIY

HERE'S A DIY FAIL. Where did i go wrong? :( Instead of stencilling i tried to paper transfer with regular paper and last jet ink.

1. BOOBOO #1 My letters were not backwards so i had to reprint.

Ahh.. much better

Cut around the letters so there's less paper to rub off later.

Apply mod podge onto the wood and place the word ink side down.

When it dries, apply water.

Letter the paper soak up for a few minutes the begin rubbing off the paper.

Rub rub rub.. I'm feeling optimistic.

NOT :(

Attempt #2. I let this one soak for longer.

Look Ma! My letters look pretty dang good!!

Until it dries and I realize there's a lot of left over scraps.

Thank you for NOTHING!! Where did i go wrong :(

DIY Hand Carved Mr&Mrs Signs

Another DIY! (there will be more :D)
DIY Hand Carved Mr & Mrs Signs
For photos and chair signs :)
Materials

Wooden Plaques $2 each from Dollarama = $2.26 CAD
Sponge Brushes from Dollarama $1 for 6 = aboug $0.19cents
Wood Cavring Tools $? These were from grade 8 lol! We had a class for a day or two where we had guest teachers that taught us how to wood carve. This is my first time wood carving since then :) (6 years later)
Coffee (not pictures) - free! just poured left overs from work into a jar.
Total: $5.65 CAD + brushes left over

Step 1 Trace
Print out your letters onto a piece of paper (I used the font Book Antiqua). Regular paper is fine, you don't need tracing paper. Shade the back of the letters with a pencil then postion, tape and trace.

Step 2 Divide
Draw a line in the middle of each of the letter's legs or curve. See pic.

Step 3 Outline
I used the V tool to outline the letters and the middle lines.

Step 4 Carve
I first used the v-tool to carve inwards, then the U tool to smooth it out.
^ before smoothing out (don't have one with Mrs)
^ smoothed out

You could leave it as is or do what i did, Coffee Stain!

I used a sponge brush (regular brush should work) and brushed coffee over the wood.

For the letters, i let it puddle hoping it will make the letters darker. Note that the wood can only soak so much.

After 15mins+ wipe off the excess and let dry.

TA DA! Finished
I don't know if I want to paint the letters over. Not sure if it'll pop. Hrmm!!
