DIY Garter Finished!

Received my 3 colours of ribbon i ordered on ebay and bought elastic at the dollar store before i left work.
Here's my inspiration

My finished product!

I'm having second thoughts about the bow. here's what it looked like without the bow.
Which one looks better?

I haven't made the toss garter yet but it'll be just the light blue ribbon with a red bow.
Total cost $4.89

2.1m of 2/3" Elastic $1.13 from Dollarama
From eBay $3.76
1 Yard of 1 1/2" white satin ribbon
5 yards of 5/8" baby blue grosgrain ribbon
5 yards of 1/4" red satin ribbon

First i measured my thigh (or wherever you want it to sit(, multiplied it by 2 for my ribbon length because i wanted it extra ruffled (some people do 1.5x their thigh).
I sewed the skinniest ribbon (red ribbon) to the blue ribbon. I just did one whole line right down the middle.
The blue ribbon i sewed the edges only to the center of the white ribbon so i could weave the elastic through.
The elastic was about an inch or two smaller than my thigh measurement. Using a safety pin i weaved it all the way through, sewed the end then pulled the rest through creating ruffles till i got to the other end and sewed it shut.
Sew the two ends together right side to right side, flip it inside out and bam! finished!
